“Only a remnant of that seed remains of the original Christian Church.”

Chapter 10, Page 99 –

Okay, let’s look for more pieces to this particular part of the puzzle. Turn to Revelation 12, the next gap in the Slinky, the Third Interlude that John inserts in his story. John stops in his narrative of Time of the End events (Revelation 2-11) and reviews the history of the People of God (Revelation 12) in three parts:

  1. The nation of Israel giving rise to the coming of Messiah, the birth of Christ (verses 1-5),
  2. The emergence of the Christian Church who must hide in the wilderness for 1260 day-years of persecution (verses 6, and 13-16), and
  3. The emergence of the offspring (the remnant) of the Woman who appear at the end of the 1260 day-year prophecy (verse 17). This emergence of the “remnant of her seed” occurs at the same time period in history as the first two interludes that we already examined.

If the Woman is the original or “mother” Christian Church, then the “seed” of the woman are the Protestant Churches which sprang from the Woman. In verse 17, only a remnant of that seed remains of the original Christian Church. This group in this Third Interlude emerges at the end of the 1260 day-years, this “remnant of the seed.” Now remember that this is the same group which appeared at the same historical time as was described in the two previous interludes. This group is now described in verse 17 as those “who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus,” which Revelation 19:10 describes as the spirit of prophecy. Again mark carefully the time in history when this Third Interlude occurs.
